Welcome back to yet another pre-season 2022 NFL Draft prospect positional rankings! Now, I must remind you, these rankings are subject to change as the college football season moves along, so if you don't like where someone is, don't worry, it could change.

All in all though, I do hope you do take the time to read through the all the rankings. Feel free to leave a comment down below, whether you like, dislike, or feel whatever about this post, let me know how ya feel! So, without any more hesitation, here is the defensive prospect rankings for the 2022 NFL Draft!

Defensive Line (Top 7)

  1. DeMarvin Leal, Texas A&M (4-3) (EDGE/DL)

    1. CLEAR

      1. Best d-lineman in this class

    2. Can play as a 3-tech or as a 4-3 defensive end

      1. Extremely versatile

      2. Expected to move inside to 3-tech at the next level

        1. 6'4" 290 lbs.

    3. Extremely explosive/great get off

  2. Jordan Davis, Georgia (NT; 3-4)

    1. Best against the run

      1. Georgia had the best run defense in college football last season

        1. 72.3 ypg (723 total yards) (2.4 ypc)

        2. Forced more fumbles (9) than touchdowns allowed (8)

    2. Massive human

      1. 6'6" 330 lbs.

      3. Is moving to more of an OLB role as opposed to his usual 4-3 DE role

    2. Natural length allows him to be a pain in the ass against the pass and the run

      1. Powerful at the point of attack as well

      2. Length+power=not very fun for opposing o-linemen

    3. Doesn't take plays off

      1. Plays full bore all the time, which is what you love to see from a top prospect
